Former Australia captain Greg Chappell faces his countrymen for the first time on Saturday with India desperate for a win in the Kuala Lumpur tri-series.
Chappell's men lost their opening game to the West Indies on Duckworth/Lewis rules and now meet the world champions. India batsman Sachin Tendulkar marked his first full innings after six months out with a shoulder problem by hitting his 40th one-day international century on Thursday.
And Ponting, whose men won their opener against the Caribbean team, is wary of the impact the Mumbai maestro could have on the game.
